LifeMatters Unveils Innovative Medication Management Service For The Home Health Care Industry

July 13, 2010

Bethesda, MD (July 13 2010). LifeMatters, the leading home health care company serving the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, announces today that it has partnered with MedMinder Systems to offer its clients a new medication management service

Medication management is a frequent and troublesome challenge for seniors and their families, and LifeMatters’ new medication management service, based on MedMinder technology, will allow seniors to easily manage their medications.

In addition, patients’ families and LifeMatters caregivers have the ability to monitor, in real time, whether medications are missed. This new service from LifeMatters includes a wireless pill box that provides dosage reminders and reports to caregivers, through e-mails, if medications are missed or the wrong medications are taken.

“For some time, we have searched for the right technology that would help us provide better, and more affordable, care to our clients,” says Scott Thompson, the CEO and founder of LifeMatters. “This device is simple to use and install. For seniors, this is literally a regular weekly pill dispenser. No training is needed.”

Thompson adds, “Our new medication management service also provide us and our clients’ families with a clear and full picture about the way their loved ones take their medications. Clients forgetting to take their medications, or taking the wrong medications, is a big problem. We are having great success with this new program and see this as an opportunity to enhance our long-term relationships with our clients and their families.”

By partnering with MedMinder, Bethesda-based LifeMatters becomes the first home health care company in the Washington region to offer this type of service. “This further distinguishes us from other home health care companies in the D.C. area,” Thompson says.

Eran Shavelsky, CEO of Newton, Mass.-based MedMinder, says that the LifeMatters service “is on the cutting edge of home health care services. This is a realization of our vision to combine technology and hands-on care to enable seniors to live in their own home, where they prefer, safely and affordably.”
